Septic Systems

The Importance of Maintaining Your Septic System

For members who own septic systems, The Association offers a free Homeowners Guide for On-Site Disposal Systems. This handy reference manual informs you about your septic system and is available at the TSRA front desk. If you prefer to receive a copy by mail, please call the Zone staff at 707-785-2756.

Many of you come from urban areas and are not familiar with septic systems. You can save thousands of dollars in replacement and/or repair costs if you follow the simple guidelines in this manual.

These helpful hints are especially important if you own the more complicated innovative systems, such as the "Advanced Treatment Units"

The On-Site Wastewater Disposal Zone (Zone) staff welcomes your inquiries. Please call them to review your septic plans and previous septic inspection records. As a homeowner it is vital that you become aware of the location and history of your septic system, as well as understand your maintenance responsibilities.

The Zone Inspector, Russ Hayter, may be reached by telephone at 707-785-2756 Monday through Thursday, 7 AM to 4 PM. He is available to see homeowners Monday through Thursday, 7 AM to 4 PM by appointment.

Arrangements for after hours or weekend consultation can be made with Russ by calling 707-785-2756. Please leave a message and Russ will contact you.
