Basic Facts regarding your Water Company:

Address: The Sea Ranch Water Company, 35600 Verdant View Drive, P.O. Box 16, The Sea Ranch, California, 95497, (707) 785-2411

Governance: The Sea Ranch Board of Directors (BOD) also serves as the BOD of The Water Company.

Oversight: The Utilities Committee has been given the assignment of oversight of the Water Company’s operations.

Management: The Community Manager is Chief Executive Officer of the Water Company and the Director of Finance is the Chief Financial Officer. The Director of Works, Utility Operations Manager and Operations Foreman are long time water and wastewater professionals with the appropriate California State licenses.

Regulation and Financial History: The Water Company is currently regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission. Financial reports dating back to 1974 are available for review at the Water Company office or at the CPUC in San Francisco. Under TSRA ownership, the company will operate as a subsidiary corporation of TSRA. Current financial information is available to the membership upon request.

Rate setting: The Public Utilities Commission approves all requests for changes in rates. The last rate increase occurred in 2007. The issue of continued CPUC regulation will be a subject of discussion by the BOD when the Utilities Committee completes it's report.

Water quality: A number of State Agencies monitor our water and an independent laboratory tests the water weekly. We are fortunate that the quality of the water supply is excellent. As a result very little treatment is needed. Complete reports are available at the Water Company, or online with a Consumer Confidence Report (in PDF format, see below). You are provided with an analysis each year.

An exact duplicate of the most recent printed Water Company Consumer Confidence Report is available in Adobe Acrobat format to access please Click here. To access this file, Adobe's Acrobat Reader is required and is distributed free over the Internet from the Adobe Web Site.

Other information: The Sea Ranch Water Company, in addition to water supply,  manages the Onsite Wastewater Disposal Zone (Zone) through a contract with Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department (PRMD) and the Wastewater Treatment Facilities of the Central and North Treatment plants through a contract with the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA). A fact sheet has been prepared which describes in general terms the operation of the water treatment and distribution facilities. If you would like a copy, please call us at (707)785-2411. If you have any questions about the company or suggestions on how we can improve our service, please call Randy Burke at (707) 785-2411.
