
Vegetation, Planning, and Compliance Manager
The Sea Ranch Association is seeking a Vegetation, Planning, and Compliance Manager to manage and implement strategies for vegetation planning, management, and design of The Sea Ranch Commons, as well as oversee landscape development on private parcels, in accordance with the founding principles of The Sea Ranch development.
- Exempt, full- time, salaried position on-site in The Sea Ranch, CA
- Salary range: $100,000 – $115,000 (commensurate with experience)

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Environmental Planning, Ecological Science or Landscape Architecture, and at least four years’ experience in community planning, landscape architecture, environmental planning, or related field.
The Position:
- Guide the overall management of vegetation and land use planning activities on private parcels and Commons
- Develop and implement processes to ensure construction and landscape improvements comply to approved plans, The Sea Ranch Design Manual and Rules, and other policies and TSRA
- Manage and implement vegetation resiliency planning to identify potential hazards, threats and impacts, and then establish adaptation, mitigation, and recovery plans.
- Implement Project Management activities, including permitting, for vegetation management projects.
- Conduct assessments of specific landscape modification requests, including tree/vegetation removal, landscape/planting plans; fuel management proposals, site planning, grading
- Perform and guide the property inspection processes verifying vegetation, landscaping and construction conforms with approved plans/records and governing documents
- Perform specific area studies and prepares neighborhood landscape management plans and maps; assists and advises the Facilities & Resources staff in matters relating to the execution of land management plans
What You’ll Need:
- Accredited university or college degree in Environmental Planning, Ecological Science, or Landscape Architecture
- 4+ years’ experience in community planning, landscape architecture, environmental planning, or related field
- Experience directly related to community development and code enforcement preferred
- Training in environmental planning and native planting issues, particularly regarding ecologically sensitive areas; or demonstration of knowledge of current principles and practices
