The Sea Ranch Water Company (TSRWC) provides utility service to its customers, collects service charges, and operates under the applicable regulations of the California Public Utilities Commission and other governmental entities. It is also regulated by the State Health Department and the State Water Resources Control Board. Our operators are State certified to produce water.

You may pay your water bill using our Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) service to have your water bill automatically withdrawn from your checking account on or about the due date shown on the water statement. To participate in this service, complete an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Authorization Form.

As part of our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and accurate water service, The Sea Ranch Water Company will be replacing customersโ existing water meters. Water meter replacement will happen in two phases starting in June 2026 and continuing through early 2027.

Can You Tell Me About My New Water Meter?
Your new meter will be a Spectrumโข advanced water meter, which improves measurement accuracy and enables automated readings. Following installation, you can monitor your water usage through the Waterscopeยฎ customer portal, a secure online platform that provides daily usage data and leak alerts. All metering and billing practices comply with applicable requirements of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
Is There a Cost to Replace My Water Meter?
There is no direct charge for the standard meter replacement. Infrastructure improvements are included in rates approved by the CPUC or the applicable governing authority.
When Will my Meter be Replaced?
What Should I Expect During the Replacement?
- A technician will replace your meter at your property. All installers carry official Sea Ranch Water Company identification.
- Installation typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.
- Water service will not be interrupted.
- If your meter is outside, you donโt need to be present.
How Will the Meter and Billing Transitionย Work?
- A final reading will be taken from your current meter at the time of replacement.
- Your bill will reflect usage through the replacement date.
- Your existing meter will be removed and remains the property of the water utility.
How Do I Monitor My Water Usage?
Do I Get a Credit If I Purchased an EyeOnWaterยฎ Water Meter?
Customers who have previously purchased an EyeOnWaterยฎ meter will be eligible for credit based on the date of installation. Customers who purchased a property with a pre-existing EyeOnWaterยฎ installation are not eligible for the credit.
Credits will be applied as follows:
- Eligibility is determined by the original installation date of the EyeOnWaterยฎ
meter. - The credit amount will be prorated based on the remaining service life of the
device at the time of replacement. - The applicable credit amount and eligibility details will be reflected on your
billing statement.
This credit is provided to ensure equitable treatment of customers who previously invested in advanced metering technology, consistent with CPUC requirements for fair and reasonable customer charges.
Estimated Credit Schedule
Your credit will appear on your bill after your new meter is installed. No action is required. We will calculate and apply the credit automatically if you are eligible.
